Aylesford Parish Council
A Parish Council is the first local tier of government. It is concerned with all issues which affect residents of the Parish, either directly or indirectly.
Aylesford Parish Council is one of the larger Kent Parish Councils, covering Aylesford, Blue Bell Hill, Eccles and part of Walderslade. As can be seen from the Guide to Services, this Council is involved in maintaining local activities and its efforts are clearly visible around the area.
Besides being consulted by Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council on all planning applications, Aylesford Parish Council responds to, and comments on Local Structure plans, government discussion documents and traffic management issues.
Parish Councillors are elected members of the community and serve a 4-yearly term. In the event of a casual vacancy, if no by-election is called by the Borough Council, a Councillor may be co-opted.
