Welcome to The Net, a community centre for all run by mhs community charity. The charity was established over 5 years ago and has since expanded into a variety of contemporary and exciting projects these include; a skatepark, activities for young people all over medway, a building skills academy, a nursery and a radio station. (include links to any websites we have)
mhs community charity aims to provide the wider community with excellent services engaging with all people from the local and surrounding areas. We believe in creating inspiration for life and continually strive to better ourselves in order to bring our many communities together.
The Net is a new and innovative project set in the heart of Weedswood; it's a great facility with access to many technologies and interesting activities and courses available to all members of our community. We try to ensure the development and inclusion of all individuals through participation and integration.

Current Opening hours
Monday - Friday 9am - 4.15pm closed between 12.45 - 2pm
We prefer school children not to use The Net before 3pm unless they are invited guest of mhs community charity or are taking part in an educational programme.
Volunteers
Here at The Net we depend on the community to make this project successful. We want to provide you with the best possible community cafe and this involves a keen and committed team of staff. These include regular staff and a team of volunteers. If you are interested in gaining some volunteering experience or would just like to lend a helping hand then please speak to Clare to get more information. Please note that everyone is subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check.

Monday 9.30 - 11.30 Mother & Toddler
(Including representation from the Children's information service)
Mother and toddler aims to provide a secure and pleasant environment in which you can enjoy the company of like-minded people whilst your children are safely playing.
Tuesday 10 -10.40 School children's art class (in partnership with Greenacres School)
Wednesday 9.30 - 11.30 Free Computer classes
Why not come along and learn how to use the computer to write letters and send emails etc.
Wednesday 10.00 - 12.00 Budget cookery classes (fortnightly)
A fun informal cooking class where we aim to offer you a variety of economical and healthy meals
Thursday 9.30 - 11.30 Free Healthy Eating (Family Learning - Adult education)
Meet other parents, share ideas and understand the benefits of healthy eating with your family.
Thursday am Cards & Craft lessons (once a month)
A fun informal class where you can come along learn a new craft and meet new friends.
Thursday pm Over 50's session - Film Club/craft etc
A session especially for the over 50's come along and meet new friends enjoy a film of your choice and reduced rates in the café.
Friday am Art Classes (with local artist)
A chance to express yourself with art! Maybe discover a new talent or nurture an existing one.
Friday pm Free! Slimming support club with Free health checks & advice
Fed up with no motivation needs to feel like part of a friendly group then come along and we'll help you live a healthier lifestyle and encourage you to lose weight along the way.
Every day after school between 3.15 - 4.15 we encourage young people between the ages of 5 - 16 to use the facility where we can offer arts & crafts, homework assistance, Playstation & football table which are all free.
We hope you take part in the activities we run but this is YOUR community and your centre so tell us if you'd like us to run something different! Better Still, we'll help YOU run the activity you want!
We promote healthy eating as much as possible here at The Net and believe that our children should maintain a healthy balanced diet. We stock a range of healthy food and drink options including various milkshakes and no added sugar squash as well as hot beverages.
We also offer sandwiches & rolls, as well as jacket potatoes & other light snacks. Homemade cakes and buns are always available.
Children's activities
We offer various activities to take part in for young people during the school holidays. Many of our activities can be enjoyed for a minimal charge or at a reduced cost when making offsite visits or when taking part in sporting activities. Our staff will always have the up to date information available so please just ask.
