Walderslade Online Re-launch

Welcome to Walderslade On Line, a pioneering community website that has been operating for 5 years. There are many websites claiming to represent the community but virtually all of them are commercial enterprises focussing purely on driving business. The mantra of Walderslade On Line has always been "by the people, for the people" and therefore much of the content is driven by the demands of individuals, groups, organisations and the community as a whole.

The concept of a virtual community information point was totally unique and a move away from the traditional source....

Walderslade Online Wins "Year of the Volunteer"

In many ways Walderslade On Line has become such an integral part of my life that the word "volunteer" is never one I've really considered. However 2005 was the Year of the Volunteer and I'm very proud to say that Walderslade Online won a number of awards.

Firstly the site won an award from Marks & Spencer under the category of "partnership" and a cheque for £250 was presented by Helen Lederer from TV’s Absolutely Fabulous. The money was invaluable as I've funded the site entirely by myself for the last 5 years.

Parking at the Co-Op, be careful !!

Many thanks to John for the following ...

I would like to bring to your attention the situation that is occurring concerning the new parking legislation introduced by the Co-Op Supermarket Walderslade. This morning I received a parking fine for £90 because they had photographic evidence of my car being parked in their car park all day. In fact as you can see from the attached letter I was innocently dropping my wife of at work. I know for a fact that several people have experienced the same problem, receiving parking tickets when they shouldn't have. I would imagine it is ....

Scouts at Buckmore Park

I am writing this to offer a correction, and a defense, to one of your statements on your 'Latest News' page of your website. Under the heading "Plans For Proposed Building On Impton Plateau" there is the sentence "We've also heard a rumor that the scouts are planning to sell Buckmore Park for housing development !!!!!". This is wholly incorrect, and is a very sore issue for the local Scouts in the area. Buckmore Park has never been the property of the Scout Association. As such they would never be able to sell it, be it for housing or any other purpose. It has been on exte....
